Prince Harry and Meghan Markle begin living as private citizens:
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made newlines around the world when they announced that they intended to resign from being working members of the British royal family. In March, the couple returned to the UK from their temporary abode in Canada in order to fulfil their last royal duties as working royals. As of the 31st of March, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially became private citizens and started hunting for possible homes in Los Angeles. Where Meghan’s mother lives and works as a professional yoga instructor.
While Harry and Meghan will formally hold onto their royal titles, the couple will no longer use royal titles in their personal life. Instead the couple who will no longer be known as his and her royal highness will be known simply as the duke and duchess of Sussex.
Prince Charles and Boris Johnson become infected by Coronavirus:
Prince Charles and the United Kingdom’s current Prime Minster Boris Johnson, both announced that they had been infected by Coronavirus. Other famous faces who tested positive for Coronavirus include the current Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau as well as Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson.
Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi lose their lives in a tragic helicopter crash:
Kobe Bryant who is heralded as one of the best basketball players of all time lost his life in a tragic helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, on the 26th of January. The helicopter was carrying nine passengers to a children’s basketball match. Unfortunately all nine individuals lost their lives as a result of the crash. Some of the other victims of the helicopter crash included basketball coach John Altobelli and his daughter.
Bernie Sanders pulls out of the democratic primaries for the 2020 presidential election:
Bernie Sanders who was one of the clear leaders of the democratic primaries has officially ended his campaign to become the next president of the United States. Which leaves Joe Biden, the clear winner of the democratic primaries. As a result it’s highly likely that Joe Biden who served as President Barrack Obama’s Vice President, will compete against the current President Donald Trump to become the next president of the United States.
The coronavirus Pandemic claims over 100,000 lives worldwide:
Although the global coronavirus pandemic shows no signs of stopping, the virus has already claimed the lives of over 100,000 individuals around the world. While some countries have successfully reduced the number of cases which are detected each day, scientists and politicians believe that the world won’t be free of the effects of the coronavirus pandemic until a succesful vaccination is found and trialled. A tasks which may still take over 12 months to realistically achieve.
It’s highly likely that the rest of the world’s major news stories in 2020 will center around the worldwide coronavirus pandemic. Which has taken the world by storm.
